What size fire extinguisher cabinet do I need?
Size follows the extinguisher, and US practice quotes the tub width first. A 5 lb unit fits a 9.5 × 24 × 5 in tub, a 10 lb unit the same face at 6 in deep, a 20 lb unit a 12 × 27 × 8 in tub, and two 20 lb units side by side a 20 × 27 × 8 in tub. In millimetres those are 241 × 610 × 127, 241 × 610 × 152, 305 × 686 × 203 and 508 × 686 × 203. Cut the wall opening 10.5 × 25 in for the small tubs, 13 × 28 in for a 20 lb unit and 21 × 28 in for the twin. The 30 in figure sometimes quoted for a 20 lb cabinet is the trim outside dimension, not the tub.
What is the difference between recessed, semi-recessed and surface mounted?
A fully recessed cabinet sits inside the wall and finishes flush. A semi-recessed cabinet sits partly in the wall with a trim that returns 1.5 to 4 in, which keeps the projection inside the usual 4 in limit for corridors. A surface mounted cabinet fixes to the wall face and needs no opening, projecting the full depth.
How much does a fire extinguisher cabinet cost from your factory?
There is no single price. Cost follows size, sheet thickness, steel versus stainless, door style and glazing, trim type and quantity. Do you make fire-rated extinguisher cabinets?
No. A cabinet in a fire-rated wall has to be a listed fire-rated assembly, and we do not hold that listing — we will say so rather than quote one. For non-rated walls, which is most installations, no listing applies to the cabinet and we build to your specification.
What is the difference between a fire extinguisher cabinet and a fire extinguisher box?
Nothing consistent — they are the same product under two names. Buyers in North America and Europe usually say cabinet; buyers in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia often say box. Outdoor units with a solid weather-sealed door are also called extinguisher boxes.
Can you OEM fire extinguisher cabinets for distributors?
Yes — free OEM: your brand, colour, lettering, instruction decal and packaging with no tooling fee. We already produce extinguisher cabinets, hose cabinets and hydrant boxes under distributors’ own brands in several markets.
Do you supply stainless steel and outdoor versions?
Yes. SUS 304 brushed for interiors and coastal work, SUS 316 for beachfront and chemical plant — see our stainless steel extinguisher cabinet page. Outdoor cabinets get a gasketed door and drip lip in steel or stainless.
What is the minimum order for a trial, and how do we move to full containers?
Carbon steel cabinets 50 units, stainless steel 30 units — a first order can be smaller. We build one sample cabinet to your drawing, you approve it, then the batch runs; several models can share one container. Every approved model keeps its drawing number, so a repeat order goes by number with no new sample. See our importer & distributor program.
What is your lead time, and can you keep up with repeat orders?
About 7 working days for a sample once the drawing is approved, then 25–40 days for mass production depending on quantity and finish. Our three factories make 15,000 cabinets a month between them, scheduled by order, so a large or repeat order can run across more than one factory.
Our market requires a certificate for the cabinet — can you supply it?
What we hold: CCCF 3C, ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 and third-party EN 60529 test reports for the enclosure. The cabinet shell carries no UL, FM, LPCB or Kitemark approval, and we do not apply for a country’s certificate on our own. If your tender asks for a certificate on the cabinet itself, tell us before you order — we will say plainly whether we can meet it.
