Australian standards govern the equipment and the installation, not the sheet-metal box. AS/NZS 1221 covers the hose reel, AS 2441 its installation, AS 2419.1 hydrant systems including where a booster must sit, and AS 1851 the routine service. ActivFire listing attaches to the reel and the valves inside. We build cabinets that suit those listed components and say plainly that the cabinet itself carries no ActivFire listing.
A 19 mm hose reel of 18, 25, 30 or 36 m sets the cabinet. Give us the reel make and drum diameter and we size the box, the stiffener and the swing clearance around it.
The booster must be weatherproof, corrosion resistant, preferably in the building façade within 20 m of the main pedestrian entrance (or at the main vehicle entry, in view of that entrance), with at least 100 mm clearance around handwheels and room for the identification signage and block plan. Those rules drive the cabinet size, not a published dimension.
Cabinet identification and the annual service routine. We supply cabinets with the door lettering and block-plan holder your fire engineer specifies, and material certificates for the service file.
Hose reel cabinets are sized around the reel; booster cabinets around the assembly and the clearances AS 2419.1 requires. All are made to order, so a non-standard size costs nothing extra in tooling.

We manufacture the cabinet. The booster assembly — forged Storz adaptors, isolation valves, non-return valves, H-pattern pipework and pumper inlets — is supplied and installed by you or your nominated maker. Cabinets ship with the cut-outs, the block-plan holder and the door signage your drawing shows, weatherproof and corrosion protected.
Parts of a hose reel cabinet: body, door and frame, lever handle and lock, hinges, reel bracket and stiffener, riser, drip lip, architrave (recessed), lettering. Replacement handles, locks and keys are supplied for our cabinets.

In New Zealand an AS/NZS 1221 recess takes a 640 × 675 × 270 mm cut wall (W × H × D).
