Where Breeching Inlet Cabinets Fit

A breeching inlet (also called a fire brigade inlet) is where the fire service pumps water into a building's riser. A dry riser cabinet houses the inlet breeching for a dry riser — a normally empty pipe charged by the brigade's pumps — while a wet riser cabinet serves a permanently charged wet riser. The inlet fittings commonly follow BS 5041, the British Standard for fire hydrant landing valves and inlet breechings widely referenced across the Gulf, UK and Commonwealth markets.
