What is a breeching inlet cabinet?
It is the weatherproof, tamper-resistant box at street level that houses the inlet breeching — the connection point where the fire brigade pumps water into a dry riser, wet riser or sprinkler system. The box protects the breeching and identifies it; the breeching itself is a separately certified item.
What is the standard breeching inlet cabinet size?
A 2-way inlet cabinet is typically 595 × 395 × 295 mm (H × W × D), or 395 × 595 × 295 mm when the same box is turned horizontal, and a 4-way is 595 × 595 × 295 mm, all needing a wall aperture 10 mm larger in each dimension. These are the BS 5041 Part 5 box sizes, and they are what manufacturers in the UK, Malaysia and the Gulf all build to.
What is a four-way breeching inlet, and what is the main difference between a 2-way and a 4-way breeching inlet?
The number is the number of pumper inlets on the breeching. A 2-way inlet breeching has two brigade connections and serves a 100 mm (4 in) riser; a four-way breeching inlet has four and serves a 150 mm (6 in) riser, letting the brigade put more water in at once. For the cabinet the difference is width only — the 4-way box is 200 mm wider, with the same height and depth.
What is the breeching inlet cabinet price, and what drives it?

What is the difference between a dry riser cabinet and a wet riser cabinet?

What is the breeching inlet cabinet installation height?
It is set by your code and the approving fire officer so the brigade can connect quickly at the access point — in the UK under BS 9990, in the Gulf under Civil Defence review, in Malaysia and Singapore under UBBL and the SCDF Fire Code. We build to the height shown on your drawing rather than assume one.
Do you supply the inlet breeching as well as the cabinet?
Most orders are cabinet-only, with the cut-outs made for the breeching you already buy. We can also source and fit a breeching to your nominated make and standard if you want one delivered assembled.
Can you make cabinets with Arabic or other local lettering?
Yes — bilingual Arabic and English is standard for Gulf orders, and we screen-print or etch whatever string your consultant approves. Send the exact wording; we do not translate safety text ourselves.
Can you supply matching landing valve and hose cabinets?
Yes — landing valve cabinets, hose reel cabinets and fire hose cabinets are made on the same line, so a whole riser package ships in one container under one quotation.
Do you supply breeching inlet cabinets to Oman, the UAE and the wider Gulf?
Yes. Gulf specifications are normally written around BS 5041, which is exactly what we build — the same 2-way and 4-way boxes that ship to the UK go to Oman, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. For Muscat, Sohar, Duqm and other coastal sites we recommend SUS 316 or a marine-grade coating over carbon steel, because salt-laden air attacks a standard epoxy finish far sooner than it does inland.
