Powder-coated carbon steel is fine indoors — but coastal salt air, chemical plants, food and pharma cleanrooms and premium architecture need stainless. SUS 304 resists most indoor and general corrosion; SUS 316 adds molybdenum for chloride-heavy marine, coastal and chemical environments.
