Quick answer: A custom fire hose cabinet can be changed in size, sheet thickness from 0.8 mm, colour, door and glazing, lock, door lettering, branding and contents, with no tooling charge for a custom size. One sample takes about 7 working days after you approve the production drawing, and the batch is then built to that same drawing.
Most of what leaves our workshop is somebody else's design. When an importer asks whether we can build a custom fire hose cabinet, the real questions behind it are three: what can be changed, how long it takes, and where the risk sits. This guide answers all three, using the limits we actually work to.
A custom fire hose cabinet is usually not a new invention. It is a standard body adjusted to a market's size, door lettering, colour and contents, or a copy of a cabinet a buyer already sells and wants to source more reliably. That is good news for lead time and cost: most changes are made at the drawing stage, before any steel is cut, and the production line does not care whether the size on the file is a catalogue size or yours.
What You Can Change
| Item | What we can do |
|---|---|
| Size | Cut and folded to your drawing; no tooling or mould charge for a custom size. Powder-coated bodies up to 3,000 mm long |
| Sheet thickness | From 0.8 mm upward, in cold-rolled steel or SUS 304 / 316 stainless |
| Colour | RAL 3000, RAL 3002 and white from stock; any other RAL colour from 300 pieces |
| Door and glazing | Solid, glazed or vision-window doors; single or double; the glazing your market expects |
| Lock and handle | Cylinder lock, flush pull, break-glass key window and similar fittings to suit local practice |
| Door lettering | Your market's wording and language, size and colour to your sample |
| Your brand | Your logo on the cabinet, and packing printed under your name |
| Contents | An empty cabinet, or supplied with reel, valve and hose as your project specifies |
The changes buyers ask for most often are size, door lettering and colour. Size matters because walls and existing openings are fixed; lettering matters because local inspectors read it; colour matters because a distributor wants every batch to match the last one.
Contents deserve a decision of their own. Some importers want an empty cabinet because their contractors fit locally approved valves and hoses; others want a complete set that can be fixed to the wall and signed off. Both are normal, and the choice changes the packing, the weight per carton and the paperwork, so settle it before the sample is built.

What We Do Not Make
Saying no early saves both sides time. We are a steel and aluminium workshop, so we do not build GRP or fibreglass, plastic or timber enclosures. We do not fold sheet thinner than 0.8 mm, even where some markets sell lighter cabinets on price.
We are also plain about certification. Valves, reels, hoses and extinguishers supplied inside a cabinet are certified bought-in parts with their own markings. The cabinet shell carries what it actually holds: CCCF 3C, ISO 9001 quality records, GB 14561 compliance and a third-party certificate of conformity to EN 60529. If your tender asks the shell itself for an approval it does not have, we will tell you before you order, not after.
From Drawing to First Batch
- Send a drawing, a line from your bill of quantities, or simply a photo of the cabinet you want to match.
- Our export team replies within 24 hours with a feasibility check and a quotation.
- We prepare a production drawing showing your changes, including dimensions, lettering, logo and colour, and you approve it.
- We build one sample cabinet, normally in about 7 working days; special sheet materials take longer. Samples are charged, and the cost can be credited against the first production order.
- Once you approve the sample, we release the batch to the same drawing.
For an importer working with a Chinese factory for the first time, that one sample is the whole risk. Approve it in your hands, then commit to volume.
How to Get It Right the First Time
A custom fire hose cabinet goes wrong for the same few reasons: a drawing with no tolerances, lettering described instead of written out, or a colour named instead of numbered. Three pieces of information remove most of the back-and-forth. Send the drawing or photo, the country where the cabinets will be installed, because that decides the door wording and the hose and valve connections, and a rough quantity. Give door lettering as exact text rather than a description, and give colour as a RAL number rather than "red".
If you want to see how we draw before sending anything, the free CAD packs in our download centre are the same drawings we build from. Our OEM and private label section lists the full set of options, and every quote for a custom fire hose cabinet starts from your drawing, not from a catalogue. Send the drawing, the country and a rough quantity, and you will have a feasibility answer within one working day. Once the sample is approved, our importer and distributor program explains how a trial order moves on to full containers and repeat orders.
